Academic Health and Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC)
The AHSNs are still a relatively new addition on the NHS landscape. The AHSN covers a broad spectrum of activity, supporting initiatives that promote the uptake of innovation to drive growth and job creation in our local economy. The AHSN is committed to working with industry partners and the third sectors as well as involving patients and the public, to help improve both the health and economic prosperity of the region.
As the driving force behind the identification, adoption and dissemination of innovative healthcare, the AHSN has created The Innovation Pathway to facilitate the commercialisation of emerging innovation, technologies and research. The Innovation Pathway provides assistance across the entire innovation lifecycle. It captures the capability of AHSN partners and delivers a brokerage between the NHS, other healthcare organisations and industry to help turn ideas into reality and opportunity into commercial success.
