Bionic hands for kids could soon be on the NHS with help from amputee Tilly Lockey

Bionic hands for child amputees could soon be available on the NHS at a fraction of the usual cost - with help from meningitis survivor Tilly Lockey.

The 11-year-old from Consett is taking part in the world’s first clinical trial of 3D printed bionic hands for kids, which started this week in Britain.

If successful the hands will become available on the NHS, bringing life-changing improvements for patients.
